Maintain an open establishment all the time. Hire more people. I wish I got a winter break. ..I'll raise it if it's as good as people say it is.

Usually I would LOVE to give this place 5 stars. We always ordered the Marble Cake with Custard for celebrations and it was always a hit. However, for my daughter’s 2nd birthday, the cake was completely inedible. It had a strong chemical taste that made it seem unsafe to eat. It was slightly embarrassing to rave about a cake/bakery and then have people not eat it because again, it was inedible. I could understand if the cake had been over cooked or dry because that can happen, but this was just bad! It’s hard to trust to order from them again for a party since a main part of the celebration is the birthday cake! Hopefully this doesn’t happen to other customers!

Everything is delicious. We love their cheese coffee cake. The place has high traffic first thing in the morning and the line is out the door for Fat Tuesday, but it moves pretty quickly.

They are always super friendly, great cakes and cookies.

After many years today I lost my appetite. My son bought me 4 danishes. I found a HAIR baked in. So disgusting. I went to bakery to shower them. What I heard is surprising. "Incident happened". No. That shouldn't happen. When you crashed your car or tripped over your feet then incident happened. Hair in a food is disgusting and tells me how dirty that place is.

A solid 4 out of 5 based on donuts. What a bargain. "Specialty" donuts were only $1.95 and regular donuts (which included apple fritters) were $1.65. 10% discount when you use cash. The yeast dough is soft but with a bit of a bite compared to, let's say, my fav yeast donuts in Chicago from D&D's Place or Firecakes. Cake donuts had a moist, large crumb. A was a bit disappointed by the caramel and amount of it on my Turtle donut. Despite that, Keans is a tremendous value, offers good pastries, and recommended by any measure.

I went here twice and fell in love, that being said every time I’ve been there since (5 times) they have been closed, including today even though it was before there closing time. I will not be trying again

Awesome selection of fresh baked goods! All of them are the kinds that you really want to eat. I think the jelly donut was my favorite. There was an abundance of jelly and it was wonderful.

Best bakery for miles around. Get there early!

Bought the almond coffee cake. Took it to go. Good quality. Tasted fresh. It's worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood.

Really really nice little bakery. Been going there almost my whole life, over 50 years. Even had them make our wedding cake 30 years ago. Quality is on point and pricing is great. Staff is also really a nice bunch of young ladies. They have always hired young people from the area to serve out the food. Always nice , clean and friendly. I've never gotten anything dab there in my whole life. They will do specialty items with little notice within reason. It's not really pretty inside but its clean as a 50 or 60 year old place can be. And it's kinda cool that it's never really changed in all these years. U can not go wrong here.

Th best baked goods. Awesome Carrot cake, breads and doughnuts. If it was closer, I'd be there daily.

I was in the area searching several bakeries for an event I'm having, as soon as I walked in I felt welcomed just a good vibe from the employees who were very helpful the place looked very clean and I tried several of the pastries which were delicious I will definitely go back there again

Kean's Bakery has excellent donuts, sweet rolls, coffee cakes and bread.This is an update as we get through the COVID pandemic.I called Kean's to see if I could place a phone order For the next day and pay via credit card. A friendly woman said "Absolutely!" I ordered a dozen sweet rolls, pound cake and a loaf of bread. I picked them up the next morning and my order was ready. I was in and out in less than a minute.Not only is Kean's an excellent local bakery, they are adapting to these extraordinary times to serve their customers.

We have some very tasty bakeries near us...there's even a "donut trail" through the neighboring county...so we know good donuts. These FAR exceeded anything near us. The dough is perfect. The glaze is sweet but they use just the right amount. The blueberry donut tastes like fresh picked blueberries. Melt in your mouth glazed yeast donut. We visit Itasca annually for the highland games and this will definitely become a regular stop for us!

we LOVE Keans! We drive all the way from Elgin at Christmas time to get special baked goods for our family Christmas Eve party and celebrating my Dad's birthday. Keans is just another part of growing up in Itasca that stuck with me and my Dad still lives down the street in the house i grew up in. Thank you Keans for yummy stuff all these years!!!

Straight out of Mayberry, the bakery your idealistic grandmother took you to when eating a cinnamon roll the size of your face didn't stir up thoughts of cholesterol. This place is clearly run by a gifted and passionate person. Fair price, chic retro feel, and, most importantly, deliciously indulgent. The staff was friendly but to the point. Try the apple fritter.
